How to set up for a graph

Start by creating a table of values. Let's start by entering values near -  pi.

Select the two starting values, and grab the handle at the lower right hand corner with your mouse.

Now move the mouse down. The spreadsheet will automatically extend the x-values you have started.

To make a table for y = 3 sin(4x), enter the spreadsheet formula =3*sin(4*a2) in cell b2.

Then grab the handle at the lower right corner and copy the formula down column B.

Now select the whole table and click the chart wizard.

The chart type you want is a scatter graph.

Pick the smooth curve graph.

You get a preview of the graph. Click "Next".

Also click next in the next step. Then you get here:

Make sure that "As object in" is picked, and click finish. The result is a graph of the points you tabulated.
