Greenlaw and North Memphis

The George C. Love house, 1889
Greenlaw is an area developed from 1856 onwards, generally north of Auction St.
George C. Love had a successful business shipping white oak barrel staves
to Europe and the rest of the United States. He was a crony of E. H. Crump and served
as mayor during a period when Crump had legal difficulties. The house is now
a neighborhood center owned by the city. The wrought iron fence is original.
