Butterfly
Birds, flowers, and butterflies add flashes of color to the wildlife area.

This is a Viceroy butterfly which looks similar to the common Monarch butterfly. Birds quickly find the Monarch butterfly inedible since it fed on the milkweed. Although the Viceroy which feeds on willow is a perfectly good bird food, its colors and habits mirror the Monarch. This gives it some protection from birds that have learned to leave alone anything that looks like a Monarch.
