Mathematics - BSE 1980, MS 1981
Business Administration - Ph.D. 2000

They say that the best buildings start with a firm foundation. I believe these words could be applied to my career stemming from the foundation I received from Arkansas State University.

My first job after graduation was with Southwestern Bell Telephone (now known as SBC) in St. Louis, MO.  Throughout my sixteen-year career at SBC I held various positions in many departments (Yellow Pages, Marketing, Finance, Revenue & Public Affairs, etc.).  In each and every position, I utilized the skills I learned at ASU in some fashion.

SBC relocated their corporate headquarters to San Antonio, TX and I chose not to relocate for personal reasons.  I then look a job with The SAS Institute as a Data Miner in their Sales & Marketing department.  I worked there slightly over two years and then opportunity came knocking on another door.

Since February 2000 I have working at Health Resource Publishing (HRP is a subsidiary of Catalina Marketing).  HRP offers products aimed at providing customers with easy access to targeted information that helps them make better decisions about their health care needs. As Senior Director-Analytical Services, my primary responsibly is to oversee all statistical analyses and market research activities related to these products (controlled store testing, compliance/persistence analyses, etc.).

I have been teaching Mathematics, Statistics, and Operations Research courses in St. Louis at various colleges and universities since 1987.  I have taught at St. Louis University, Washington University, Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), Webster University, and Maryville University to name a few.

In May 2000, I graduated with my PhD in Business Administration at St. Louis University.  My major was Decision Sciences (a combination of Statistics, Operations Research, Simulation & Queuing Analysis, and Production Management) and my minor field of study was International Business, focusing on the areas of International Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Trade.

I owe so much to the faculty of ASU Mathematics department for their guidance and the instruction I received from them.  Every aspect of my career today can be traced back to the quality education I received at ASU.
