Horticulture is a science-based course that includes studies and hands-on experience in nursery, greenhouse, landscape and floral design. Facilities include a large greenhouse, laboratory work area, nursery, lath house, floral-shop with flower cooler and a large outdoor work area.
The class has a small studio equipped with a power potter's wheel and
kiln for clay pottery construction.
Students successfully completing two years of the horticulture class
should have entry level skills enabling them to work at garden centers,
nurseries, floral shops, greenhouses, landscape nurseries, and landscape
maintenance jobs.
Horticulture students with a B or better average may gain up to six
hours credit in an agriculture related degree should they elect to attend
ASU Beebe.
