Computer Technology
The Computer Technology program trains students in microcomputer software applications,operating systems, computer operations, and programming.
Training is offered in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
The students receive training in the programming languages of BASIC and HTML.
Students entering this class will be more successful if they are logical and have keyboarding skills.
Computers used in this class are IBM PC compatible.
The two-year program provides students with basic skills and knowledge for entry-level positions as operaters and data entry clerks. Students are stronly encouraged to continue their education at a post secondary level. ASU Beebe allows college credit for the AVC Computer Technology student with a B or better average.
